Businesses spearheaded by families will be praised at the Birmingham Business Excellence Awards when it unfolds on Thursday 7 November.
The Family Business of the Year category will be presented to one of three stand-out finalists – who will be revealed in the coming months – during a black-tie ceremony at the ICC.
Whether it be a business that has a long family history, or one that is only in its first generation, the sponsors of the category, TAG Accountants, will no doubt be looking for strong family values and demonstrable growth when it comes to judging the applications.
TAG, who support professional advisers by providing them with access to the knowledge and experience of the best technicians in the field, will spend the next month reviewing all nominees in the category and select just three finalists.
CEO Mark Allen explained their sponsorship further.
“The accountancy firms that are members of the TAG Community primarily work with owner managed and family businesses,” he said.
“That, along with the co-founders being educated and growing up in Birmingham, led to us being a logical sponsor for the Family Business of the Year Award.”
During the judging, TAG will also be looking at the local impact the family businesses make and how they positively improve the communities in which they operate.
Reflecting on how his own business impacts the local area, Mr Allen said: “TAG representatives have presented to thousands of business owners in the region over the years.
“In addition, in conjunction with our member firms, joint venture partners and specialist, tax, financial services and many other professional service teams enable local businesses to enjoy big four quality financial, accounting and tax support at incredible value for money.
“We also enable many businesses across the region to make money and save money while they sleep as well as introducing tech solutions to improve operational efficiency but more importantly effectiveness.”
TAG Accountants join a stellar line-up of category sponsors who include Birmingham City University, adi Group, Kalamazoo IT, Morgan Reach, NFU Mutual and Gray Paul Birmingham
